How Does the Tax Filing Service Work?

TaxFyle is a real-time tax filing software application that connects you digitally to a tax professional to make filing taxes easy and efficient.

How to get started:

  1. First Step:
    1. Starting on January 26, 202, you can access our tax portal here

    2. Select "sign-up" or "sign-in" on the next screen to create your account on our tax portal. If you used our tax filing services last year, then your account is still active and you can just sign-in. Use the forgot username/password option if you need to recover your credentials.

  2. Make a selection: Once you're logged in, you'll see an option to add a "job." A Job is simply a request for tax assistance. Select whether you need to file taxes (tax filing) or whether you are looking for Tax Advisory services (at an additional cost).

  3. Answer Questions: You'll be guided through a questionnaire asking about your specific circumstances. You'll also be asked to upload your prior year return, your identification, and a copy of your W-2(s).
You will need to complete these questions before your return can be worked on.

  4. Tax Pro Assignment: Once you are done answering these questions, the TaxFyle team will review your documents and will assign you to a tax professional whose expertise matches your needs.
  5. Upload Your Documents: You can begin uploading your tax documents into the tax portal right away, even before you are assigned to a tax pro.

Once your documents are uploaded, and your Tax Pro is assigned, your Tax Pro will take over and begin working on your tax return. The standard turnaround for completion is 7-10 business days once all documents have been uploaded.

  6. Ask Questions, Get Answers: You will be able to chat directly with your Tax Pro within the tax portal, and they will reach out to you as well as they have questions or if additional documents are needed to complete your return.
  7. Review and Approve: Once your Tax Pro has completed your return, you will be notified to review and sign it. Make sure to download the completed return for your records.
  8. All Done: That’s it! Your Tax Pro will take care of filing your Federal and State return so you can receive your refund.  If you owe money, they will provide instructions on how to pay your tax bill.

What's New This Year?

  • Improved technology: We’ve improved the document collection process and initial questionnaire to provide a smoother, more intuitive experience from start to finish.
  • Introducing Tax Filing Relationship Managers! Your Relationship Manager will act as a dedicated bridge between you and your tax professional, proactively coordinating each step - from document collection to draft review - to ensure your tax return stays on track and is handled smoothly and efficiently.
